Thrive Functional Training is CF’s personalized small group training with one on one options. Engineered to your specific body, goals, and needs, CF THRIVE combines some of the most advanced, performance-driven fitness programs with a friendly and passionate team of expert coaches.

CF THRIVE is only available at City Fitness Philadelphia. The CF THRIVE program was developed by Mike Boyle and Bob Hanson in 1996. Prior to creating the program, Boyle was a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Boston University for 15 years. He also served as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Boston Bruins, the US Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, and the Boston Red Sox.

Every Thrive Coach has their individual background and expertise, but Thrive certifies all in addition to their national personal training certifications. Every CF THRIVE Coach can guide you through your fitness journey, regardless of your fitness level and goals.

CF THRIVE Functional Training is not about “run faster, lift more.” It’s about activating multiple muscle groups simultaneously, in expertly designed programming that emphasizes movement over image. A true Functional Training program, whether you are training for a sports performance, injury rehabilitation, or to walk up a flight of stairs, your Thrive program will get you there.
